About Distorted Lens Studios
Distorted Lens Studios is an independent horror-focused creative studio built for the people who love the strange, the unsettling, and the stories that crawl under your skin after the credits roll.
We create horror reviews, film discussions, original short films, podcasts, and other dark little projects from the shadows of indie creativity. Everything we make is fueled by passion, late nights, weird ideas, and a love for the genre that raised us on jump scares, practical effects, cursed tapes, final girls, and monsters that probably should have stayed buried.
This shop helps support the future of Distorted Lens Studios. Every purchase goes back into our projects, from improving equipment and production quality to helping fund short films, videos, podcasts, and whatever nightmare we decide to chase next.
Whether you are here for merch, memberships, or just to support independent horror creators, we appreciate you being part of the DLS community.
Welcome to the lens. Things look a little different here.
Justin L
I’m Justin L, co-owner of Distorted Lens Studios and one half of the team trying to carve our mark into the wonderfully weird world of horror.
My love for the genre started young, when my grandmother showed me the original Pet Sematary. Apparently, that was all it took. Since then, horror has gone from something I watched to something I live, breathe, overthink, edit, promote, and occasionally lose sleep over. The amount of horror content I consume could probably be considered concerning, but around here, that feels more like a qualification.
At DLS, I wear a lot of hats: content planning, video editing, social media promotion, idea building, behind-the-scenes organizing, and whatever else needs doing to keep the machine alive. I bring a content-first mindset to the studio, along with a healthy dose of overthinking and just enough cynicism to know what we are capable of, what needs focus, and what might actually get people interested.
As a horror fan, I love over-the-top gore, ridiculous kills, and campy goodness. Two of my favorite films are Scream and The Evil Dead, which probably says a lot about my taste: give me blood, chaos, personality, and a reason to yell at the screen. I also believe gory “torture porn” movies might not always be good, but sometimes it is just fun to be grossed out.
What I want most with Distorted Lens Studios is to help build a home for horror fanatics. A place where people can talk movies, argue over kills, celebrate indie horror, support original ideas, and feel like they are part of something growing from the ground up.
The dream is short films, bigger productions, and creative projects that let us fully throw ourselves into the dark end of the pool. Every dollar, like, share, comment, and bit of support is insanely appreciated. The fact that anyone would support two guys chasing a dream of making their mark in horror is beyond words for me.
Thanks for being here, supporting DLS, and looking through the lens with us.
